Additional Guidelines and Recommendations
- Sliding poles are not recommended for toddlers and preschool children, as they generally don’t have the upper body and/or hand strength to slide.
- Supervising adults ensure children are not afraid of heights and understand there is no “reverse” or “stop”.
- Poles do not change directions along the sliding portion.
- Horizontal distance from the pole to the access structure is 18-20 inches.
- The pole extends at least 60 inches above the access platform/structure.
- The diameter of sliding poles is no greater than 1.9 inches.
- Upper access to pole is from one level only and access opening is a maximum of 15 inches wide.
- Poles are continuous with no protruding welds or seams along sliding surface.
