Additional Guidelines and Recommendations

• Signs inform guests of items that are not allowed in animal areas, and employees enforce the rules.
• In addition to food and drink, do not allow toys, pacifiers, spill-proof cups, baby bottles, strollers, or similar items to enter the area.
• In addition to enforcing the rules, employees monitor petting areas to:
  • Control visitor traffic to prevent overcrowding.
  • Supervise children closely to discourage hand-to-mouth activities.
  • Ensure feeding of animals is done appropriately.
• Employees assigned to the animal contact area are knowledgeable about disease transmission from animals to humans.
