Additional Guidelines and Recommendations

• Children are supervised while in animal areas.
• The fencing or barrier separating the visitors from animals is in good repair.
• Children cannot climb over, under or through the fence. If the fence does not meet these guidelines, adults need to ensure that children are kept away from the fence.
• Double fencing is used to prevent children from reaching animals that have a tendency to bite.^3,4
