Additional Guidelines and Recommendations
- To minimize the likelihood of children being struck by a moving swing, no more than two swings are hung in a bay.
- Swings are not attached to a composite structure.
- Swing seats are designed to accommodate one person, and must be used accordingly.
- Full bucket seats are recommended for children under 4 years old, and seat materials must not present a strangling hazard for young children (e.g. no rope or chain used as part of the seat).
- Bucket seats are hung in bays separate from other swings and play equipment.
- Bucket seat pivot points are 47-96 inches above the protective surfacing.
