Correction

Plastic slides are used in areas that are sunny and/or have a hot climate. Metal slides, when exposed to direct sunlight, may reach temperatures that can cause contact burns in a matter of seconds.

Additional Guidelines and Recommendations

• If metal slides are used in any area, provide shade to keep them from direct sunlight, and adults monitor slide temperature to ensure it doesn’t become hot.
• Slides are used with caution in cold climates as well, as plastic may crack when cold.
