Additional Guidelines and Recommendations

  • Loose fill types of ground cover are never installed over a hard surface (concrete or asphalt).
  • All types of loose fill need a method of containment (e.g. retaining barrier) or excavated pit.
  • It is important to have good drainage underneath to prevent pooling or migration of materials.
  • Need appropriate depth of materials (see groundcover recommendations).
