Additional Guidelines and Recommendations

  • Sliding poles are not recommended for toddlers and preschool children, as they generally don’t have the upper body and/or hand strength to slide.
  • Supervising adults ensure children are not afraid of heights and understand there is no “reverse” or “stop”.
  • Poles do not change directions along the sliding portion.
  • Horizontal distance from the pole to the access structure is 18-20 inches.
  • The pole extends at least 60 inches above the access platform/structure.
  • The diameter of sliding poles is no greater than 1.9 inches.
  • Upper access to pole is from one level only and access opening is a maximum of 15 inches wide.
  • Poles are continuous with no protruding welds or seams along sliding surface.
